Sustainability

Here at The Nude Alchemist, we are very environmentally conscious and strive to reduce our small business's impact on the environment, as well as encourage others to do the same. We are passionate about the world we will leave to our kids. This often means shifting away from what is considered the norm, which is typically cheap and convenient, to more sustainable practices.

We take sustainability seriously by using materials and packaging that can be easily reused, recycled or composted.

Our packaging for despatch—all our boxes and mailers are 100% recyclable, biodegradable, and made from recycled content. We use paper bubble wrap and newsprint for padding and paper tape to seal boxes, which can also be recycled at the curbside bin and the box or mailer.

The bulk of our product packaging is made of either glass or aluminium tin, which can be reused and repurposed or suitable for curbside recycling once labels are removed.

Most of our labels are made from tree-free mineral paper manufactured from milled quarry waste, which uses no water and minimal energy. It is also non-toxic and has low GHG emissions.

Any waste that comes in or is generated is recycled or repurposed appropriately, including soft plastic recycling and composting.

A return programme is also offered with incentives to close the loop in production and reuse packaging where feasible. We accept used glass containers back and their fittings, which will then be sanitised and reused in our production line.
