You've probably stood in the sunscreen aisle, turned a bottle over, and given up halfway through the ingredient list. We get it. When it's going on your kids' faces every summer morning, you want to know what you're putting there.

So here's every ingredient in our Natural Mineral SPF30 Sunscreen, what it is, and why it's in there. No jargon. No mystery.

The protectors: non-nano zinc oxide and titanium dioxide

These two mineral filters are what make our natural mineral sunscreen work.

Zinc Oxide
The hero. A non-nano mineral filter that sits on your skin and absorbs UV rays. It's one of the few single filters that covers both UVA and UVB.
Titanium Dioxide
Zinc's teammate. A second non-nano mineral filter that works alongside zinc for tested broad-spectrum protection.

What keeps the minerals working

Minerals on their own can clump and go on patchy. That's why our zinc and titanium each come pre-blended with helpers that keep them evenly spread, so they go on smoothly.

Blended with the zinc oxide

Coco-Caprylate/Caprate. A light, coconut-derived oil that the zinc is spread through.
Polyglyceryl-3 Polyricinoleate. Made from castor oil. It stops the zinc from clumping.
Isostearic Acid. Works alongside it so the zinc stays evenly spread.

Blended with the titanium dioxide

Silica. A super-fine mineral coating on the titanium that helps it blend evenly and stay stable.
Jojoba Esters. A wax made from jojoba oil that the titanium is carried in, for a silky finish.

The skin softeners

A sunscreen your family actually wears needs to feel good on. These four oils and butters do that work.

Apricot Kernel Oil. From the little seed inside an apricot stone. A light oil that sinks in fast and leaves skin soft.
Jojoba Seed Oil. Closely resembles your skin's natural oils, so it sinks in easily and leaves skin feeling balanced.
Castor Seed Oil. A thick, glossy oil that helps seal moisture into your skin.
Shea Butter. From shea tree nuts. Rich, creamy, and kind to dry skin.

Texture: why it doesn't feel greasy

Mineral sunscreens have a reputation for feeling heavy. These ingredients are why ours doesn't.

Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride. A light, silky oil from coconut. It helps everything blend in without a greasy feel.
Coco-Caprylate. Another coconut-derived oil. It spreads quickly and leaves a light, almost dry-touch finish.
Beeswax (Cera Alba). Exactly what it sounds like. It thickens the formula and leaves a light protective layer on skin.
Sorbitan Olivate. An olive-derived helper that keeps everything smooth, even and well mixed.

Freshness and scent

Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E). An antioxidant that protects the oils from going off, so the formula stays fresh.
Lavender Flower Oil. For a soft, natural lavender scent. No added synthetic fragrance.
